pre-orders close

Well, that did not last long! Mere days after the Lumia 950 XL became available to pre-order at the Microsoft Store in USA and Canada Microsoft has closed all pre-orders for the flagship handset, replacing the Pre-Order button with “Email me when available”.

Earlier pre-order shipment dates had already slipped from 25th November to 11 th December, indicating that Microsoft had exhausted their first shipments and were moving to their second.

Now it appears that have sold out too, and Microsoft is not quite sure when the 3rd will arrive.

Microsoft is clearly either having logistic problems or have severely under-estimated demand for the handset in the USA and Canada, where it has been nearly two years since a flagship device has become available.

The less popular Lumia 950 appears also affected in USA while it remains available in Canada.
