The Samsung Galaxy S10 and S10+ feature under-screen ultrasonic fingerprint readers, and a few weeks ago some rumours were going around that all screen protectors for the handset would need holes as present on the device above.
Thankfully it seems Samsung has anticipated the issue and will be shipping all handsets with screen protectors pre-installed.
On the Samsung Community website they write:
Samsung’s upcoming new flagship Galaxy S10 will be shipped with factory pre-installed screen protector manufactured by Samsung. This is applicable for all global subsidiaries and for all variants of Galaxy S10.
What is true however is that this is a plastic film and not the increasingly common glass screen protectors, which indeed does not work with the ultrasonic scanner.
Glass protectors, of course, offer a lot more protection. Does this bother our readers? Let us know below.
