HP today has announced a new Windows Mixed Reality headset and an upgraded version of Z4 Workstation at Solidworks World. Taking about the Z4 Workstation, it comes with the latest Intel X-series processors. Apart from it, the specs are pretty much the same.
HP also introduced a new Mixed Reality Headset which the company is calling as Mixed Reality Headset Pro. The resolution and the refresh rates are the same as the one available in the market but the Pro has replaceable face cushions inside of it. This makes the device more comfortable to use especially if you use it for long durations.
Finally, the company also launched Device as a Service for VR. This is basically an end-to-end solution developed by HP for commercial use. The company said:
DaaS is a modern service model that simplifies how commercial organizations equip users with the right hardware, support and lifecycle services to get the job done – improving end-user productivity, IT efficiency and cost predictability. This one-stop solution helps companies manage their multi-OS and multi-device environments combining predictive analytics and proactive endpoint and security management for a fixed price per device. HP DaaS helps reduce purchasing complexity and improve cost predictability with simple plans that are easy to tailor and scale – no matter your company size or industry.
HP’s Z4 Workstation is available now starting at $1,499 and HP Windows Mixed Reality Headset – Professional Edition is scheduled for availability in March for $449.
