Loki is a premier smart WiFi meat thermometer currently fully funded at more than $50,000 on Kickstarter.

The implement is designed to help track your main course to a perfect finish, whether you’re cooking a turkey in the oven, steak on the grill, or brisket in the smoker. Loki monitors, tracks and records your meat’s cooking progress and sends notifications to the Loki app on your iOS or Android mobile device when your meat is ready, wherever you are.

Of course if you prefer to receive your notifications on your PC or Windows Phone you would normally be out of luck, but fortunately the company has a stretch goal of a UWP Windows app if they reach $65,000 (at the time of writing the are at $50,823 with 4 days to go)

The UWP app is more likely to be created than most such promised, given that the Kickstarter is backed by the founders of Ceton, makers of a CableCARD tuner for Windows Media Center, and that the iOS and Android app is built in Xamarin, which should make porting easy.

The Loki WiFi meat thermometer can be had for around $100 and is expected to ship in January 2017, meaning buyers should have the device well in time for the summer BBQ season.
