Adobe today revealed the preview of Project Aero, a cross-device authoring tool that enables anyone to design AR experiences. It is the first AR app targeting designers and artists. For now, Project Aero is limited for Apple developers. It will allow them to build simple AR scenes and experiences making use of iOS ARKit. It also allows them to create immersive content that can then be brought into Xcode for further refinement and development.

With Project Aero, we plan to empower the world’s designers to make delightful AR experiences that will drive the next wave of consumer adoption for AR.

Adobe is working with open standards efforts such as usdz and glTF and leading platform vendors including Apple, Facebook, and Microsoft to deliver a comprehensive AR offering. Aero is currently in private beta and it will be open to general public in late 2019.
