Andy Rubin của Android sợ Windows Phone 7

Phát biểu với PCMag, Andy Rubin, vice president of engineering at Google and head of their Android effort, has expressed some unease at the upcoming arrival of Windows Phone 7.

While acknowledging the OS was interesting, he said “I don’t think the world needs another platform”.

Claiming anyone who did wanted a different OS from Android was only doing this “for political reasons”, he insisted the whole world should run Android.

Andy, who used to work for Microsoft at  WebTV and then at Danger before Microsoft acquired it, took Microsoft’s new OS as a personal insult. “They don’t like the people who developed [it]” he said.

Despite all his experience at Microsoft, he however went on to claim Google invented cloud services, such as “Gmail, and YouTube, and Google Talk and everything else”, conveniently forgetting that Hotmail and MSN existed well before Google got into the webmail game, and were still much bigger than Google’s supposed “day zero” services.

Ending in a Confucius-like paradoxical statement, he said “I think it’s good to have the benefit of choice, but in the end I don’t think the world needs another platform.”

I guess, Andy, its any choice as long as its Android then?
