The old Transformers games on Xbox might just be a reality, according to a statement by Hasbro’s team, the company behind the Transformers toys and franchise.

Sadly, apparently Activision’s not sure what hard drives they’re on in their building. When a company eats a company that eats a company things get lost, and that’s very frustrating. Hope is that now that the deal is moving forward with Microsoft and Xbox they’ll go through all of the archives and every hard drive to find it all because it’s an easy Game Pass add. We want those games back up for people to have a chance to play.

So why would Hasbro want to bring the old Xbox 360 Transformers games back? Well, it has to do with the recent fix Microsoft did on the old Call of Duty games. If you don’t know, although it’s impossible by now, right after Microsoft won the case against FTC, the Redmond-based tech giant fixed the old Call of Duty matchmaking servers. This decision led to a surge in sales for both old Call of Duty games and Xbox consoles, and they were the top-selling games and consoles in the week following it.

Then, games such as Shadowrun and the original Gears of Trilogy also got their revival treatment from Microsoft, and a lot of people have become very interested in playing older Xbox games. The topic is currently so popular that there is a list with the most requested revivals of old games for Xbox.

Where do the Transformers games fall into this, you might ask? Well, there are several Transformers games made for the Xbox 360 back in the day.

  • Transformers: The Game (based on the film series)
  • Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (based on the film series)
  • Transformers: Dark of the Moon (based on the film series)

These 3 games were released between 2007 and 2011, so they are more than a decade old. But there are some other games in the franchise that were ported on Xbox 360 and Xbox One.

  • Transformers: Devastation,
  • Transformers: Fall of Cybertron,
  • Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark
  • Transformers: War for Cybertron

These 4 games are currently unavailable to purchase digitally, but they can still be played on Xbox via backward compatibility if you have their disks. So as you can see, it’s fairly difficult to play them if you don’t have a physical disk available.

However, all these games mentioned earlier are part of Activision’s catalog, so theoretically, now that Activision will be part of Microsoft, there is a strong chance these games will end up on Game Pass. Which is exactly what Hasbro wants too.

And considering the recent interest from the gaming community when it comes to older games, there might be released sooner than we think. We expect a release for at least a few of them before 2023. Meaning they will most likely be added to Game Pass.

But what do you think? Are you excited about playing the Transformers games again? Let us know in the comments section below.
