YouTube’s child friendly app hits 13 new countries

YouTube is bringing its child-friendly YouTube Kids app to more countries, allowing users to download apps in those regions.

These countries are all located in Europe, with Azerbaijan, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czechia, Denmark, Finland, the Netherlands, Norway, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden, Switzerland and Ukraine gaining access to the app on both iOS and Android. With the exception of Bosnia and Georgia who are getting them for Android devices only.

YouTube has come under fire recently for inadvertently enabling a child exploitation ring. With the YouTube Kids app, that risk is mitigated for exhausted parents who may want to simply offload their kids to some videos on the iPad, even if for just a little while.
