YouTube has launched its premium YouTube Originals platform in India. The new concept allows YouTube to share its own content online for the users. The platform has been active in other countries and allows YouTube to produce and share its own content.
YouTube is even giving an amazing deal to the Indian users. While the service is paid in other countries, Indian users will have an option to take benefit of the service for free with ads. The first show available on YouTube Original is the A.R. Rahman’s ARRived. The music hunt show is hosted by Oscar-winning Indian music producer A.R. Rahman. YouTube hasn’t disclosed if they will keep the service free in India or it’s just a launch offer.
Right now YouTube has to compete with the likes of Netflix, Amazon Prime and Hotstar who have a plethora of TV Shows and Movies under their name. As of now, YouTube has already produced 60 of its own original projects globally and is planning 50 more in 2019, according to reports.
