You will soon be able to send SMS from your Windows 10 computer

It’s happening.

Microsoft will soon allow Windows 10 users to send SMS on their Windows 10 Mobile device from their computer. The company has added a new feature for Cortana on Windows 10 Build 10565 (desktop) which enables a new “send SMS” command which will basically allow you to send SMS on your Windows 10 Mobile device from your PC. The feature isn’t available for the latest Windows 10 Mobile Insider Preview build (10549) yet — however, we can confirm that this feature will be working on 1056x Mobile builds (and newer).

It is worth noting that you will be able to send SMS from your PC via Cortana for now — but, as you may expect, Microsoft will probably add this feature to the new Messaging app on Windows 10. Nonetheless, this is a major feature that we have been waiting for a long while, and it’s coming soon.
