Latest update makes it easier to be on the Chrome leading edge

Google has been offering different pre-release packages of Chrome browser on Windows. Chrome Dev and Chrome Beta channels help web developers and fans to try out new features and test web applications. By default, when users install Chrome, Google installs the most stable and supported build available. If users want to install Chrome Dev and Chrome Beta releases, they need to uninstall the stable build because Google doesn’t allow multiple versions of Chrome on a single machine.

Google is now changing this behaviour so that Chrome Beta and Chrome Dev can be installed on the same Windows computer as stable Chrome and run simultaneously. This will allow developers to easily test their site across multiple versions of Chrome.

To install Chrome Beta or Chrome Dev, download it from the Chromium release channels page. If you already have Chrome Dev or Beta and want to run it side-by-side with stable Chrome, you’ll need to uninstall it and then reinstall from the above page.
