You can now order groceries from Walmart through Google Assistant

Walmart today announced new voice ordering capabilities that will allow customers to order groceries from Walmart through their voice. Google is the first partner that will take advantage of Walmart’s Voice Order feature. Starting this month, Walmart customers in the US can say, ”Hey Google, talk to Walmart” and the Google Assistant will add items directly to their Walmart Grocery cart.

This voice capability from Walmart is personalized for each user. For example, if a customer says “add milk to my cart,” Walmart will add the specific milk the customer buys regularly. Instead of saying “1 gallon of 1% Great Value organic milk,” users can just say one word: “milk.”

Customers can start using this feature from any platform that has Google Assistant. Walmart will bring this feature to more platforms in the coming months.
