You can now get Preview builds of OneNote without becoming Windows 10 Insiders

The UWP version of OneNote has become somewhat of a priority of Microsoft, as it is set to replace the desktop version in short order, with the legacy version being kept around only for stubborn users.

This means Microsoft has a lot of catching up to do to make the UWP version feature complete, and it seems in the latest version of the app Microsoft is working to cast their tester net wider than Windows 10 Insiders.

Any Windows 10 user can now sign up for Preview builds of OneNote, simply by ticking a box in the Settings of the UWP app.

Two rings are available – Office Monthly Channel and Office Insider.

Office Monthly Channel gives you early access to fully supported builds and allows you to provide additional diagnostics, telemetry and feedback. This version is for less adventurous user.

Office Insider is best for those who want to use the earliest preview builds to identify issues and provide additional diagnostics, telemetry and feedback, and don’t mind a bit of risk using unsupported builds.

To take advantage of the feature, activate it in Settings > Office Insider.
