Xiaomi’s Redmi to soon take the crown of fastest fast-charging smartphone from Oppo

Xiaomi is reportedly planning to launch a fast-charging technology, namely, Super Charge Turbo which might be the one to beat when it officially come to the market. Mr. Lu Weibing, General Manager of Xiaomi’s Redmi sub-brand, shared a video which shows a device with 4000mAh battery going 0 to 100 percent within 17 minutes, putting the Oppo’s SuperVOOC technology, the best available in the market to shame.

If we compare Xiaomi’s 100W Super Charge Turbo with that of the Oppo’s 50W Super VOOC, the difference is huge as it should be. It’s 100W vs 50W! And as you’ll find in the below video, Oppo manages 65 percent in 17 minutes.

Note, Xiaomi is the first company showing an insanely 100W fast-charging technology and unless some other manufacturers offer something similar with 100W prefixed to it, Xiaomi is likely to enjoy a monopoly.

Unfortunately, we haven’t heard anything about the launch date from the General Manager of Redmi. But since the new technology has made it this far, you can expect this cutting-edge technology in Xiaomi smartphones launching at the end of this year. However, the likelihood of you finding this technology in a budget or mid-range Xiaomi smartphones is zero percent, therefore, don’t expect anything too crazy.
