Xioami, a popular global smartphone vendor, today announced its latest flagship device, the Mi 9. The new Mi 9 offers competitive set of features and performance at half the price when compared to flagships from others vendors including Apple and Google.
The Mi 9 is powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 mobile platform along with 6GB/8GB of RAM and 128 GB storage. The front side of the device features 6.39-inch FHD+ Samsung AMOLED display with 90.7% screen-to-body ratio and the display supports up to 600 nits brightness. The display is protected by Gorilla Glass 6. There’s a waterdrop notch to accommodate selfie camera. The device also comes with in-screen fingerprint sensor. On the back of the device, you can find gradient colored glass and a stainless steel frame structure that will have the rear camera setup.
The main highlight of the device is its camera performance, thanks to its triple camera setup on the back and 20MP selfie camera. The rear camera setup includes the following lenses.

According to DxOMark, Xiaomi Mi 9 takes better still pictures than Apple iPhone XS, Samsung Galaxy Note 9 and Google Pixel 3. Only Huawei’s P20 Pro and Mate 20 Pro take better pictures than Mi 9. On the video front, Mi 9 has scored 99, which is the best score DxoMark have seen so far in their testing. On the whole, Mi 9 will take better pictures and videos than Apple iPhone XS series and Google Pixel 3 series.
Apart from the camera, the best thing about this device is its price. Xiaomi Mi 9 with 6GB RAM/128GB storage will cost 2999 Yuan ($450 USD approx) and the 8GB version will cost 3299 Yuan ($490 USD approx).
