Xiaomi, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer that recently partnered with Microsoft to bring Windows 10 Mobile to the Xiaomi smartphones is reportedly planning to launch a Windows 10 tablet sometime soon. The report comes from Pan Jiutang – who is apparently a popular Chinese analyst who states that Xiaomi will be releasing a new Mi tablet in the third quarter of 2015. Unfortunately though, it isn’t yet known if the tablet will be running Windows 10 for PCs or if it will pack Windows 10 Mobile.
So will it run Windows 10 for PCs or Windows 10 Mobile? Well, for now, there isn’t any word on this. However, if the device includes a display smaller than 8-inch, it’ll pack Windows 10 Mobile and if it doesn’t, it will probably include Windows 10 for PCs. However, as Windows 10 Mobile hasn’t launched yet, we expect it to include a display larger than 8-inch and possibly come with the standard version of Windows 10.
Keep in mind that, as we are already in the third quarter of 2015, we will not need to wait longer for the Xiaomi tablet running Windows 10.
Interestingly enough, Xiaomi is supposed to announce a new version of MIUI for its Android devices on August 16, and we suspect the company will unveil its Windows 10 tablet alongside the new version of its MIUI. It’s also worth noting that, earlier today, Microsoft’s Joe Belfiore stated that the company will be allowing Xiaomi users in China run Windows 10 Mobile on their Android smartphones via an Insider program in the next few weeks — so we wouldn’t be surprised if the company launches Windows 10 Mobile for Xiaomi users alongside the new Xiaomi tablet next month.
