Xiaomi announces Redmi Note 7 and Redmi Note 7 Pro in India

In the interest of having a wider budget smartphone portfolio, Xiaomi today has launched two new super affordable smartphones in India – Redmi Note 7 and Redmi Note 7 Pro.

But it is the Redmi Note 7 Pro who steals all the limelight with a much better camera and hardware in general. The Note 7 Pro gets the Snapdragon 675 and that is enough power on a budget smartphone and like most smartphone these days you also get to choose from two variants – 4GB with 64GB and 6GB with 128GB. You also get USB-C. Now what makes this model enticing to consumers is neither the processor and nor RAM, it’s the 48MP+5MP AI Dual camera at the back. Selfie lovers will also appreciate the device as it has a 13MP front camera with AI Portrait mode, background blurring, AI Beautify. Otherwise, it features a 2340×1080 FHD+ display with support for Reading mode, Color temperature adjustment and more.

On the other hand, Redmi Note 7 packs  Snapdragon 660 AIE Processer and much like the Pro offers two variant to choose from – 3GB of memory with 34GB of storage and 4GB memory with 64GB of storage. It also has a USB-C and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Other specs include 12MP+2MP AI Dual Camera, 13MP selfie camera, 2340×1080 FHD+ display with 409 PPI and 19.5:9 aspect ratio.

Both the smartphones are powered by a 4,000 mAh battery, have face unlock feature, and run MIUI 10 based on Android 9 Pie.

Redmi Note 7 Pro comes in three different color options – Nebula Red, Neptune Blue, Space Black with price ranging from Rs. 13,999 to Rs. 16,999. The Redmi Note 7 starts at Rs. 9,999 and goes up to Rs. 11,999 and also comes in three different colors – Onyx Black, Ruby Red, and Sapphire Blue.

The Redmi Note 7 will go on sale from February 6 on Flipkart, Mi.com, as well Mi Home retail stores, and for Note 7 Pro you’ll have to wait a bit more as it’ll not be up for grab until March 13 on Flipkart, Mi.com, and Mi Home retail stores. The sale will happen at 12 noon on its respective date of availability.
