Bloober Team’s upcoming Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S exclusive horror game The Medium has been delayed until 2021.
Following the news that the game had been denied classification in Australia, the Polish horror game has now been pushed into next year.
Developer Bloober Team explained that the game’s new delay is due to the ongoing struggle with the coronavirus pandemic that still plagues daily life.
“After much careful thought and consideration, today we have made the difficult decision to delay the launch of The Medium to January 28, 2021,” the development team said on Twitter.
“It wasnt an easy choice to make, but one made due to the COVID-19 situation in Poland, as well as the current schedule of other games on the market. Bloober Team remains committed to delivering our biggest, most ambitious, fear-inducing experience to date.”
“The additional development time will allow us to add further polish, ensuring we deliver our innovative, genre-pushing vision of interactive psychological horror. Rest assured, the delay will not stop us sharing information with you, and you can expect us to unravel a few more layers of The Medium’s great mystery soon.”
With the delay of Halo Infinite earlier this year, Bloober Team’s upcoming horror game was a key launch window exclusive for the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S. While the wait for the game isn’t much longer, it’s still a hit for Microsoft’s next-gen launch.
