The Halo 5: Guardians Multiplayer Beta will be running from December 29, 2014 through January 18, 2015. Microsoft today posted a new video that showcases what went into making the Beta, as well as what you can expect when it launches in a few weeks. “Halo 5: Guardians” is a bigger effort than “Halo 4.” That applies to the content and scope of the game, as well as the technology in what’s now a brand new and more powerful engine. Certainly there are some core elements carried over from prior games, but Microsoft has invested a huge effort in retooling our tech to take full advantage of the Xbox One’s hardware and ecosystem to create worlds and experiences worthy of next-gen.
Microsoft is now giving access to Halo 5 Beta later today to some Xbox One Preview members. It is invite only and Microsoft will send messages to Xbox One preview members to get access to Halo 5 Beta. This beta will start at 4PM ET today, and end at 3AM ET on December 22nd. Nice gesture from Microsoft to encourage Xbox One Preview users who beta test the software before public release and offer feedback.
