At today’s E3 keynote presentation Microsoft announced the availability and price of the Xbox One (XB1). The Xbox One will be launched in November for $499 in the US, 499 Euros internationally, and 429 pounds in the UK. The XB1 will initially launch in 21 countries simultaneously. Included in the launch package is a wireless controller, integrated Kinect module, and 14-day trial of Xbox Live. There will also be special limited edition XB1 bundles sold around the same price.
There will also be bonus content for gamers who pre-order certain launch titles including Ryse: Son of Rome, Forza Motorsport 5, Kinect Sports Rivals, and Dead Rising 3. Microsoft also announced additional peripherals including Xbox One Play & Charge kits alongside a Xbox One Chat Headset that’s wired to the controller that will be available at launch.
The $499 price point was largely expected considering the Kinect is now bundled in with the console. The price will drop in price over time, probably reaching the $199 price point by holiday 2018.
