At last! Xbox One’s Fall Update is now available for everyone starting today. The company announced a host of new features and redesigns that players can finally experience for themselves. This update focused a lot on customization and speed based on feedback from the community.
One of the biggest changes players will notice is the dashboard, which has once again been completely redesigned with Microsoft’s new Fluent Design system. Players can personalize their Home pages with a new concept called blocks, allowing people to pin whatever they want in blocks of content for easy access. You can also now choose between a light and a dark theme, like many social media websites and apps have.
The Guide has been revamped as well. Players will see new a new flyout called “Friends in games” informing you of friends playing the same game. If you are broadcasting or in an active party, bringing up the Guide will now automatically open up the party or broadcast section by default for faster controls. Speaking of speed, the Guide is now faster and easier to use with the thumbsticks and bumpers.
Those are only the tip of the iceberg of what this update brings. Xbox’s Larry Hryb detailed the Fall Update in the video below, demonstrating many of its changes. If you are looking forward to the launch of the Xbox One X, there are also new options to help you transfer and copy over games in bulk to your new console so you can begin gaming as fast as possible.
