After a brief beta testing period, Larry Hryb has announced that party chat is now available through the Xbox app on Android and iOS mobile devices.

As stated in Hryb’s tweet, this functionality is going out to Android and iOS users today. Now you won’t need to be at your console in order to chat with your friends. Even better, you won’t need to replace a broken headset if you find that your phone works as an acceptable alternative.
Nintendo has a similar voice chat system in place for the Switch, although it isn’t ideal. From what people have said who have tried Xbox Live Party chat on mobile devices during its beta, it works fairly well.
Let us know if you’ve tried out the feature yet and what you think of it.
