Xbox Insiders in the Skip Ahead ring got a taste of Redstone 5 with system update 1810 a little over a week ago. It hasn’t been without a few bumps in the road, but the instability you encounter is the trade-off for an early look at upcoming features, many of which will be rolling out today.
A post on Xbox Wire details what Skip Ahead users can look forward to, including the ability to view your Avatars on the dashboard. This feature has been a long time coming, and although it’s not released to the public just yet, it’s good to see it progressing. Skip Ahead members will now be able to view the new Avatars across “user profiles, friend blocks on Home, Gamerscore comparisons, Community posts, idle system notifications, and more.”
Another major feature rolling out is Dolby Vision video streaming support across Xbox One S and Xbox One X. This will enable select TVs to further enhance the image quality compared to their usual HDR capabilities.
For those more interested in accessibility options, the Narrator now supports five more languages: Spanish, Portuguese, Polish, Swedish, and Dutch. You can read how to access the Narrator below.
