wpFandora is making music waves in the marketplace

After several months in the marketplace, this Pandora client is wowing users and turning ears.  wpFandora is developed by an independent developer who is eager to please with quick email support and an eagerness to help solve problems.

Like any other Pandora client, wpFandora requires Pandora.com credentials.  After entering your username and password the app loads your stations as live tiles on the stations panel.  The live tiles display the station name, genre and station album art.  Simply click a station to play it or tap and hold for additional options like deleting the station or pinning the station to start page for quick station playing.  Once a station is started the background of the app comes to life with images of the band/artist.  You can also search for artists, songs or albums and create stations with a single click on the search panel.

wpFandora also has a hidden feature, simply turn the phone to landscape mode for “desktop mode”.  This mode cuts the clutter and shows the important info (song, artist, album) with bigger play, pause, skip, and ban buttons.  This mode is great for riding in the car or longer listening sessions at work.

The downside to this app is it can be buggy at times, especially when data connections are sketchy.  This is likely due to the fact that it is built upon an unofficial open source Pandora API (see metropandora.codeplex.com).  For the majority of users though, wpFandora is filling the Pandora gap nicely.

Surprisingly, many users still don’t realize they can listen to Pandora on their Windows Phones.  Granted its not an official app but who cares?  Several user’s reviews state wpFandora rivals the official iPhone or Android apps.

Go give wpFandora a listen and let us know what you think.  There are two versions an ad supported version that is free and a paid version without ads.
