One of the most unique features of Windows Phone 8 is the ability to post to multiple social networks at once. Also, you can share content from any apps using native sharing experience if the app supports. Microsoft is changing this experience in a way that you will be no longer able to share to multiple networks at once. In Windows Phone 8.1, users will be presented with Share picker screen where the list of sharing compatible apps will be listed just like how we use Share charm in Windows 8. Also, Microsoft’s developer documentation reveals that Facebook Blue app will be built into Windows Phone while other social networks such as Twitter, LinkedIn and Sina Weibo apps must be downloaded by the user.
If particular app was not updated with the current sharing option, Microsoft suggests users to Share to OneNote or Mail app and then later copy the contents to respective apps for sharing.
What do you think of this new sharing model?
