World’s 5th largest smartphone maker teases deeper partnership with Microsoft

Last year, Microsoft and Xiaomi announced their expanded partnership. As part of the partnership, Xiaomi agreed to pre-install Microsoft Office and Skype on its Android smartphones and tablets. Microsoft and Xiaomi also signed a cross-license and patent transfer agreement as part of the partnership. Since that announcement, we have not heard anything new from their partnership. Of course, Xiaomi released couple of Windows 10 devices (Mi Notebook Air and Mi Notebook Pro), I’m talking about totally new things. Today, Xiang WangSenior Vice President at Xiaomi  tweeted a photo of Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella visiting Mi Home in China.

Along with the photo, Xiang Wang mentioned that Xiaomi and Microsoft are working closely in many areas and he is looking forward to a deeper partnership. I hope we will soon come to know about the new areas in which Xiaomi and Microsoft are working together. I would not be surprised if Xiaomi releases a Microsoft Edition Android phone targeting enterprise customers. What do you think?
