I’ve joined WMPU back in August as a web developer and editor. I’ve been coveing Windows Phone and Microsoft news for awhile now. Though, I’m probably the only member at WMPU with most of the non-Microsoft device – but that’s fine, right? 😉
Now, as some of you may know, my daily driver is an Android device – it’s the One M8. When I bought the device, I was pretty sure that HTC will reveal a Windows version of the handset as well. However, as I live in London, it was hard for me to get the One M8 for Windows (it’s available on US only). Nonetheless, both the One M8 for Android and Windows is undoubtedly the best phone of this year and that’d be my choice for the best phone of this year.
Next up is the best laptop of this year – I personally think the Surface Pro 3 is the best laptop of this year – it isn’t exactly a laptop but it is as powerful as a feature-packed laptop. So what’s my choice for a tablet of this year? It’s the Google Nexus 9 – I loved the Nexus 5 and the 9 is a stretched version of the 5 which comes with some sweet things, and that’s of course Android Lollipop.
Now, to the apps and games section. I’ve used couple of 3rd party clients on both Android and Windows Phone. I always loved the third-party apps on Android but when I recently got my Lumia 535, then I installed an app called “Aeries for Twitter” – and it blew my mind away, it’s undoubtedly one of the cleanest app of this year. (It also beats any 3rd party Twiter client on any other platform pretty easily when it comes to the UI) The app is still in beta, so you won’t be able to try it just yet. So what’s my choice for the best game of this year? Minecraft PE for Windows Phone – I’ve been dying to play Minecraft PE on my Windows Phone and they finally launched it with all the features. Thanks, Notch.
Now to the smart gadgets. My choice for the best smartwatch is the Moto 360, best fitness tracker is the Fitbit Charge HR, best console is the Xbox One. That’s pretty much it from my part!
