Windows Server is joining the Windows Insider program

Microsoft last week announced that they are adding support for Windows Server in Windows Insider Program. This will allow organisations to get access to Windows Server builds more frequently to test new features and fixes. Regular and frequent builds of Windows Server (including container images) will be available for Windows Insiders starting this Summer.

Based on the feedback from developers, Microsoft is focusing on providing the best containers foundation for developers. With the partnership with .Net team at Microsoft, they are bringing .NET Core 2.0 support to containers with an optimized container image based on Nano Server. This work will help reduce the footprint of the .NET container image by at least 50 percent.
