First on day one, Windows Phone got mentioned couple of times during the keynote. First was to demonstrate application code sharing across Windows Phone and Windows 8. They took a Silverlight project and modified few lines of code to run well on Windows Phone, the same code can run on Windows unaltered and as Windows 8 Metro Style app with few lines of code changes. Again during the Windows Live services demo, Windows Phone was shown to demonstrate Windows Live ID content synchronization. All your photos, contacts, calendar entries will be on all of your devices and SkyDrive acts as your cloud storage for both Windows Phone and Windows 8. During the day 2 keynote, Windows Phone got mentioned many times for various technologies. First for showing MVC Mobile template, then a multiplayer gaming played between Windows 8 tablet and Windows Phone device, then to demonstrate push notification services using Windows Azure Service bus. Viperâ€™s app on Windows Phone was also shown.
At last, Steve Ballmer made a surprise appearance at BUILD keynote session with couple of slides on Windows Phone too. You can see the slide above which pretty much explains itself and he again said that Windows Phone will be one of the core platform which Microsoft will drive with significant investments. He ended up saying â€œDevelopers, Developers, Developersâ€ seize the opportunity ahead of you. That is all for now.
