Windows Phone MLB at Bat 12 app strikes out, disappears from the field: Update–Shows up after all

imageOn the 4th we posted that an official Major League Baseball app for Windows Phone was on the way imminently (“at opening day”). This information was according to MLB’s Official Mobile app web site.

Now 3 days later, and not only has the app not shown up, but all reference to the app has disappeared from MLB’s website here.

The MLB at Bat app was likely to provide Home and away radio broadcasts and In-progress video highlights, not easy to replicate by using a 3rd party app.

Reader Robb Cab, who noticed the discrepancy, as been trying to get an answer by asking MLB’s twitter account at @MLB but has so far not received any response. Possibly  if a few more voices joined the outcry this will change.

Update:  The app has now made a surprise reappearance, and does support all the features as expected.

The app description reads as follows:

MLB.com At Bat 12, the #1 sports application of all-time, is live baseball – every pitch from every at bat – all season. Follow your favorite team everywhere you go with comprehensive, up-to-the-moment action, including live home and away audio broadcasts.

Features include:image
•  Add a favorite team panorama
•  Pin your favorite team to the Homescreen
•  Home and away live radio broadcasts
•  Gameday pitch-by-pitch tracker
•  In-progress video highlights
•  Condensed Games and video highlight library
•  Breaking news, schedules, standings, rosters and player statistics

MLB at Bat 12 can be found in Marketplace here.

Thanks Robb for the tip.
