The latest Comscore market share numbers are out for the 3 months ending July 2015, and thankfully the precipitous drops from earlier months appear to have somewhat abated.
While the 2.9% ownership share is down 0.1% from April 2015, is is the same amount as the June 2015, suggesting the worst may be over for now.
At 2.9% Windows Phones make out 5.55 million of the 191.4 million smartphone users in USA, actually up from the 5.52 million in June. As one of Windows Phone’s weaker markets we can not read too much however from what is likely a rounding error.
It is likely the rest of the year may see further gentle decline, with the impact of Microsoft’s new flagship handsets only set to be revealed by Comscore next year.
