Windows Phone “doing fine” on AT&T, new round of devices coming later this year

hd7s AT&T senior vice president of mobile devices, Jeff Bradley, spoke to PCMag about their upcoming phone line up.

Besides Android devices he also spoke about Windows Phone 7, confirming that it was "doing fine" on AT&T.

He confirmed the HTC HD7s was coming soon to the network and a next round of devices was coming later this year with Mango pre-installed and using the updated processors in the new Chassis 1 spec.

The HTC HD7s has a better SLCD screen than the current HTC HD7 on T-Mobile USA, but is otherwise identical.

"Mango will be the next event. With the timing of when [Windows Phone] came out and the timing of Mango, it didn’t leave a natural period in between when we could introduce an interim round of devices," Bradley said. "We’re working very, very actively with the ecosystem and Microsoft."

It is generally expected that we will see a quite summer on Windows Phone 7, but that the fall will bring a new rash of devices on many carriers world-wide.
