Windows Phone documentation reveals new Location Service Notification

It seems updated Windows Phone documentation on Microsoft’s Windows Phone Help site has revealed a minor new feature in Windows Phone Tango.

When an application utilises the Location API a new notification icon (right) will now appear in the status bar. This is useful for applications running in the background using periodic tasks, which may for example upload your location every 30 minutes.

It is likely the icon has been added due to recent “location-gate” privacy concerns on multiple platforms, including Windows Phone.
