Windows Phone Dicom Viewer lets users query, receive, print, display and process medical DICOM images without the need of any middleware. The apps can enable clinical professional to directly access medical images and query modality worklists while being on the move. In this way they can provide faster and more accurate second opinions, delivering better healthcare services to their patients.
The update to both the Windows Phone 7.5 and 8 apps providing an enhanced user experience and better DICOM compatibility. The Windows Phone 8 version takes advantage of the new networking capabilities, and can transform the user’s device into a fully functional mobile PACS system. A WinRT version for tablet users is also in the works.
The app comes in both a paid and free version. The paid version is only $2.99, which is incredibly cheap for such a sophisticated work utility. The free version does everything the paid version does except supports DICOM image uploading to remote DICOM nodes and Dropbox, image uploading to SkyDrive and lacks supports for image printing in DICOM compatible film and paper printers.
