Windows Phone continue rapid market share ascent in Finland, taking share from iOS

The amazing adoption of Nokia’s Windows Phones in Finland has continued unabated, with StatCounter reporting that the OS is now registering in 4.08% of its internet contacts, an increase of 3% in less than 5 weeks. If the trend continues Windows Phone should cross 5% in a week, and 10% in early May.

More interesting is that iOS seems to have suffered a similar precipitous drop from a high of 38.5% to 36.4% over the same period. Android seems to be unaffected, having increased its market share slightly over the same period, while Symbian lost around 2% market share.

It is certain that Finland currently has the highest Windows Phone market share world wide, and it seems even though Windows Phone has started out as an American OS, it may soon become very Finnish indeed.
