Windows Phone 8 will let developers add music to the media library

It seems one of the great new features of Windows Phone 8 is to open up the OS to 3rd party developers.

One such feature is the ability for developers to add music, audio and photos to the media library. This would allow 3rd party music stores like 7Digital to add music directly to the music library for example, taking 3rd party apps from 3rd class to fully functional 1st class citizens.

With other information that has been leaked it is clear Windows Phone 8 will be closer in developer freedom to Android than iOS, which should help convince buyers who were holding out due to the walled garden approach before.
