Windows Phone 8 GDR2 brings support for compressed .wav files

AAWP reports that one of the unheralded features of Windows Phone 8 GDR2 is much expanded support for .wav files and the various codecs that can be used in these containers.

As can be seen in the above table GDR supports many more codecs, including Ulaw and GSM6.10, which are compressed codecs often used for voice mail systems who send voice mail via email attachments.

Hopefully much less users will now find their voice mail systems unsupported, and one wonders what other hidden features the OS update contains.
