Windows Phone 7 Readers Thoughts: Murani’s

Hi guys. I have been receiving stacks of emails from you guys, so here is a short one I received on Monday… enjoy:

My name is Murani and I am a power user.  Actually I am and I’m not depending on how the mood strikes.  You see I own a couple of businesses and teach during the day.  I have tons of personal and business related emails.  I am a videographer and load samples of my work on my phone to carry along and show clients with.  I have never known anything other than WinMo for as long as I’ve owned cell phones.
I love the ability to customize my phone but even that gets old sometimes.  WP7 is delivering a fantastic user experience, rich media content by way of Zune, bar none the most visually appealing apps and a demand for great specs to ensure smooth, controlled experiences.  I can wait for copy and paste because I only use it ever so often.
I call those who are down on WP7 “yesbutters” because they always have but at the end of all their sentences.  Great application of smart sensing, yes but there is no copy and paste, easy development environment yes but underdeveloped APIs, Zune integration yes but I want to keep my music on a separate card.  The list goes on and on.
Why choose a WP7 device instead of the iPhone?  Simple, McDonald’s meet Burger King, Coke meet Pepsi, Mercedes meet BMW.  It isn’t about being an iPhone killer but an iPhone alternative.  At the end of the day being a techie means being an early adopter and so I’m going full in on WP7 despite the exclusions at launch because I can see the commitment and creativity being in sync for the first time in a long time.
