Windows Phone 7 once again shown demolishing iPhone and Android Google Nexus S in HTML5 speed test

Geekwire has caught this MIX 11 demo on video, showing once again the superior hardware acceleration in IE9, even on the mobile platform.

In the video Microsoft shows the Speed Reading HTML 5 test, which even on the desktop in Chrome runs at about 10 fps, and about the same speed on the Google Nexus S, and much slower on the iPhone 4.

Of course on the desktop in IE9 it easily hits 60 fps, and about half that in iE9 on Windows Phone 7.  Microsoft also showed the browser accessing existing HTML5 optimized websites, showing the performance is not limited to sites specially coded by Microsoft.

The Mango update will be available early to developers, and I think that may be a $99 well spent.
