Net Market Share has recently released new numbers for desktop operating systems. The latest number reveal that Windows 7 is now the top operating system (59.04%), followed by Windows XP and Windows 8.1. Windows XP now covers 16.94% of the market, whereas Windows 8.1 covers 10.55% of the market. Windows 8.1 is being followed by Mac OS X 10.10, take a look a the full data:

For those of you who don’t know, Net Market Share calculates these number by tracking website analytics. The latest data shows that Windows 7 is still the top operating system with the most users – however, it’ll be interesting to see if these users upgrade to Windows 10 once it’s available.
