I know some readers think we overuse the word “finally”, but I think it is very appropriate when a 2006 technology is finally heading to our handsets in 2015.
One of the most painful parts of setting up a Windows Phone is slowly and carefully entering your WIFI password. Now it seems Windows 10 Mobile will finally bring support for WiFi Protected Setup, which allows one to pair securely by just pressing a button on your router, to Windows Phone.
In fact, Windows 10 Mobile will take it further and support pairing via NFC which some routers feature, making pairing even more transparent.
These improvements seems to be part of the advantage of merging the mobile and laptop/desktop operating systems, and going forward should mean phone users will remain current with the technology supported by the desktop, which is only a good thing.
