Windows 10 Universal Photos app gets 2 significant new features

Photos-update-W10M

When the Windows 10 Universal Photos app first launched it did not receive much love, mainly due to being terribly slow and lacking many features.

Regular updates have however seen the app improve significantly over the months, and the latest update to version 15.1109.1036.0 has added two significant features.

The first is finally the ability to confine OneDrive folder indexing to your Pictures folder only, which should prevent random things like album art from showing up on your slideshows.

The second, a feature borrowed from the ill-fated Storyteller app, is the ability to show on a map where a photo is taken (accessed as part of the File Information right click or Press and Hold menu).

The updated app can be found in the store here.
