On Wednesday, Microsoft released new preview builds for PC and smartphones. The company also announced that it making Windows 10 Mobile Redstone builds available for the enthusiasts that rock an Alcatel OneTouch Fierce XL smartphone.
The Alcatel OneTouch Fierce XL, which we recently reviewed, will now be able to make use of Microsoft’s latest mobile operating system. “Today we are also adding support for the ALCATEL ONETOUCH Fierce XL. We plan to expand to other devices once we start releasing Windows 10 Mobile to other devices,” wrote Windows chief Gabriel Aul.
The Alcatel OneTouch Fierce XL joins the league of Xiaomi’s Mi 4 smartphone which was previously the only non-Lumia smartphone to support Windows 10 Mobile. Windows 10 Mobile builds are currently only available for smartphones that shipped with Windows 10 Mobile out of the box.
The announcement comes hours after several Alcatel OneTouch Fierce XL noted that they had recently received a Windows 10 Mobile cumulative update dubbed build 10586.107.
