The project to get Windows 10 for ARM onto old Windows 10 Mobile phones has made more progress, with another capability added to handsets running the desktop OS.

Gustave Monce, one of the leaders of the project, has announced on Twitter, that GPS now works on the Lumia 950 XL running Windows 10 for ARM.

The team has recently made it very easy to install Windows 10 for ARM on the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL, both handsets which have already gone out of support.

It is notable of course that cellular data still does not work on the device, making it more a proof of concept than anything useful.

If you want to rescue an old handset and put it to some interesting use, however, find the Installer at GitHub here.
