Microsoft is today releasing 2 new builds of Windows 10, one for PCs and for Mobile devices to Windows Insiders in the Fast Ring. This is the second release of Windows 10 builds this week, as Microsoft released build 15046 (only for PCs) earlier this week. Today, Microsoft is releasing build 15048 for PCs and build 15047 for Mobile to Insiders, and there isn’t anything significant to be excited about.
Similar to build 15046, both build 15048 and 15047 mostly focus on fixes and improvements. There aren’t any new features at all with the new builds, which is expected.
This is not really surprising as we are getting closer to the release of Windows 10 Creators Update. As I stated earlier this week, Microsoft has already started working on the next major upgrade for Windows 10 (codenamed “Redstone 3”) and the Creators Update has also reached the feature-locked status. As a result, Microsoft isn’t going to introduce any major features before the public release for the Creators Update and they will only be working on bug fixes and polishing the update for the public. And that’s exactly why Windows Insiders will only get builds with minor bug fixes and improvements over the next couple of weeks.
As per usual, you can find the full changelog for build 15048 and 15047 here. And if you are a Windows Insider in the Fast Ring, you can get the build by heading over to Windows Update in the Settings app.
