Microsoft has been facing issues with the upcoming update but it looks like the update will be available for manual installation starting Monday. Earlier we reported that the company is targeting May 8 for the public rollout.
The May 8 date will remain fixed for public rollout but users can download the update manually starting April 30th. With the next update, Microsoft is also working on a nomenclature change. The new update will no longer be called the Spring Creators Update. Instead, Microsoft has decided to go with April 2018 Update as the official name for the update.
We floated a number of different names to a lot of customers that provided that proactive feedback, and really the simplest way to help people understand the update was to give it a time that people can clearly understand and works really globally much more efficiently.
