Office Mix a new tool from Microsoft that offers an easier way to make your Microsoft PowerPoint lessons more engaging and share them online. It allows you to record your lectures while you write and draw on slides, and add video, assessments, and labs. It is connected to a online service, so you can store them in the cloud to share them with your students, who can play them on nearly any device. It also includes advanced features such as analytics for every student, quiz, and slide. The best part is, Office Mix Tool is free if you have PowerPoint 2013. Recently, Microsoft announced that a new contest by which you can win Surface Pro 3 devices for your favorite schools.
You’ve told us how much you love using Office Mix to bring your lessons to life online, and we’ve been awed by the lessons and creativity of the mixes you’ve created. That’s why we’re thrilled to announce our Lessons to Life Contest, which is accepting entries through September 28th. You could win up to 15 Surface Pro 3 devices to donate to the school of your choice!
Here’s how it works: Build a lesson in PowerPoint 2013, use Office Mix to spice it up, and share it on OfficeMix.com. We’re looking for mixes across Arts, Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies, and you can build just about any K-12 lesson you want within those categories (just make sure it’s shorter than 10 minutes). We’ll select 15 finalists based on how creative they are, how originally they use Office Mix, the overall quality of the mix, and the mix’s applicability to learning. We’ll then open them up to voting by the community starting October 13th. The Grand Prize winner will win 15 Surface Pro 3 devices to donate to a K-12 school, and five lucky First Prize winners will each win one Surface Pro 3 to donate. All the prizes go to the schools designated by the winners
