Will some features in Office in Windows 10 Mobile be restricted to Office 365 subscribers?

One of the advantages of being a Windows Phone owner has always been having Office Mobile included for free with your device.

There is some sign that this may be coming to an end, with the Office app now asking for evidence of a subscription before allowing you to create new documents.  This restriction does not include viewing or editing existing documents.

It is however likely that we may be seeing a bug instead, as Microsoft has already dropped these restrictions for iOS and Android users last year, and it would not make sense for Microsoft to deliver to Windows Phone users a worse version of the product than for Google and Apple users, would it?
