Mustafa Suleyman, Microsoft AI CEO announced the expansion of new London office in a post on X.

Mustafa Suleyman’s comments arrive just as anxiety and tension build up around powerful language models escaping oversight as they advance. He argues that the larger the models, the simpler they are to steer, shape, and fine-tune. This is, of course, in comparison to their smaller predecessors. Just a few versions earlier, managing these tools was significantly tougher, he noted.

His argument challenges recent discussions among tech leaders and critics worried that escalating AI capabilities might lead to unforeseen problems or risks. Instead, Suleyman suggests scaling these language models enhances their predictability and responsiveness, making them safer and more efficient.

The statement from Microsoft’s AI chief arrives as regulators and industry figures debate tighter rules for AI development. Suleyman’s remarks indicate confidence that technology, as it grows, can remain firmly under human control, contradicting narratives of AI risks spiraling with increased model complexity.
