Last week, Microsoft released Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 18936 (20H1) to Windows Insiders in the Fast ring.  Whilst it provided bug fixes and performance updates in some areas, it seemed to create new problems in others.

A Reddit user has described a problem they (any many others) have been experiencing while using Remote Desktop connections; a feature that allows many people to access other systems.

I am running Build 18936-190705-133 on my computers. When I try to connect locally to map a network drive, I get the prompt to enter my account credentials. When I do, it says they are wrong. The same thing happens when I use the RDC program. Any ideas? I have tested both my account passwords and a Pin for the computer.

Windows 10 does seem to have a history of Remote Desktop issues, which Microsoft assure us that they are working on fixes for.

Other known issues include problems with installation, Realtek SD card readers and Windows Security’s tamper protection.

Whilst the connectivity issue is being worked on, step-by-step guides can be used that will help you fix it yourself.  Additionally, it’s also recommended to delay updates on your system, to avoid potential issues.
